
Congratulations to Ryan Colaw - our December Staff Member of the Month! Mr. Colaw, in the 2nd year as our CIS, is very active in our PHS community coaching, mentoring, tutoring, and/or helping our students secure clothing/supplies after a house fire. Thanks for all you do!





Due to impending weather, the Open House at South Branch Career and Technical Center has been rescheduled for Monday, December 19th from 5-7 pm. This event is for our 7th & 8th grade students & their families to showcase our work in our brand new Career Exploration Lab.


Due to the weather forecast, tonight's boys basketball game against Pocahontas Co. is cancelled. We do not have a rescheduled date as yet.


Well done Bryson Riggleman and Ryen Sites assisting with our LSIC presentation to the BOE held at PHS last evening. Lucas Riggleman was recognized for making the WV State Golf Championships. We are #VikingProud of our students leaders.

Thursday, Dec 15th is Day 9 of the 12 Days of Christmas. PHS students and staff are collecting food items to benefit the Project Equip Weekend Backpack Program and Petersburg Interfaith Food Pantry. On Day 9 we are collecting boxed dinners (Hamburger Helper) and side dishes.


Wednesday, Dec 14th is Day 8 of the 12 Days of Christmas. PHS students and staff are collecting food items to benefit the Project Equip Weekend Backpack Program and Petersburg Interfaith Food Pantry. On Day 8 we are collecting Individual breakfast cereals & oatmeal, pop tarts.


Tuesday, Dec 13th is Day 7 of the 12 Days of Christmas. PHS students and staff are collecting food items to benefit the Project Equip Weekend Backpack Program and Petersburg Interfaith Food Pantry. On Day 7 we are collecting spaghetti, mac & cheese, pasta sauces, rice sides.


Monday, Dec 12th is Day 6 of the 12 Days of Christmas. PHS students and staff are collecting food items to benefit the Project Equip Weekend Backpack Program and Petersburg Interfaith Food Pantry. On Day 6 we are collecting boxed 100% juice & condiments (ketchup, mustard, etc.)


Friday, Dec 9th is Day 5 of the 12 Days of Christmas. PHS is collecting food items to benefit the Project Equip Weekend Backpack Program and Petersburg Interfaith Food Pantry. Day 5: individually wrapped granola bars, pretzels, goldfish, cheese & crackers, and baking supplies.

Monday, Dec 5th is Day 1 of the 12 Days of Christmas. PHS students and staff are collecting different food items each day to benefit the Project Equip Weekend Backpack Program and Petersburg Interfaith Food Pantry. On Day 1 we are collecting cans of soup.


Our Health Careers Club visited Bridgewater College's Cadaver Lab this week with anatomy teacher, Mrs. Evans. We wish to thank Mrs. Turner of GMH for arranging this special experience for our students.





Mrs. Hedrick's Art students visited Summit Community Bank today to help decorate their tree with ornaments made in class. The ornaments will be on display throughout the holidays.





A Winter Wonderland Dance will be held Fri, Dec 9th from 6-8pm. Only PHS 7th & 8th gr students may attend. A $5 ticket must be purchased from Mrs. Adams by Mon, Dec 5th. All middle school rules apply. Refreshments will be sold. Students must be picked up promptly at 8pm.
