
**STAFF SPOTLIGHT** Every Friday we are going to shine the spotlight on one of our staff members. This Friday it is Mrs. Ashley Shreve. Mrs. Shreve has been teaching for a total of 9 years, with 3 being in Grant County. Mrs. Shreve's most interesting project that she has worked on has been the Virtual Reality Virtual Career lab for the students. Mrs. Shreve says her favorite part about working in PHS is "that everyone is willing to help each other. And serving 3rd lunch to help out the kitchen staff." PHS is lucky to have you Mrs. Shreve!

**STAFF SPOTLIGHT** Each Wednesday we are going to shine the spotlight on one of our staff members. This Wednesday is Ms. Angela Propst. Ms. Propst has been teaching in Grant County for 44 Years! Ms. Propst says the most interesting project that she has worked on was publishing the Viking Log, the school newspaper. She also enjoys working with seniors and staff on graduation requirements and activities. Ms. Propst says that what she likes most about working at PHS is that "I enjoy working with the students and seeing them succeed. Probably the best experience is talking to graduates and hearing them say they were prepared for work or college." PHS is lucky to have you Ms. Propst!

Student Council is holding a winter clothing drive. Please consider donating gently used winter clothing. Clothing can be dropped off in a sealed plastic bag to the school or students may bring them to Mr. Colaw's room.


Today was a busy day for PHS students. Our Middle School students were able to get a preview of the Harlem Triksterz this morning, followed by our Veterans Breakfast and the "Get a Life" Program. **STAFF SPOTLIGHT** Each Wednesday we are going to shine the spotlight on one of our staff members. This Wednesday is Mrs. Olivia Porter. Mrs. Porter has been teaching in Grant County for 8 years. Mrs. Porter says she is most proud of the work she did as a Biology Teacher. She was able to bring lab activities to life so students could have a more hands on approach . Mrs. Porter says" The best thing about working at PHS is the staff I get to work with everyday! " We are lucky to have you Mrs. Porter!


Yesterday, students from SBCTC went to Martinsburg for the FBI Teen Academy. This was a great opportunity for our students to learn new skills and gain knowledge! #VikingProud


**STAFF SPOTLIGHT** Every Friday we are going to shine the spotlight on one of our staff members. This Friday it is Ms. Carmen Pidre- Bocardo. She has been teaching in Grant County for 6 years. Ms. Pidre-Bocardo has enjoyed working on many projects through PADLET. It allows for her classes to connect with other classes all around the world. She is currently working on a project with Austria, Bulgaria, and Spain on how the Fall is celebrated and different in these countries. Ms. Pidre-Bocardo says what she enjoys most about working at PHS is that "I like is to discover with students there is an amazing world where all of us we live , so big & so different and full of things for learning." PHS is lucky to have you Ms. Carmen Pidre-Bocardo.


**STAFF SPOTLIGHT** Each Wednesday we are going to shine the spotlight on one of our staff members. This Wednesday is Mrs. Michelle Park. Mrs. Park has been teaching in Grant County for 26 years. Mrs. Park says that the best thing about teaching at PHS is that she can help students to succeed in life. Mrs. Park says" My greatest joy is watching my students succeed and be successful once they leave PHS." We are lucky to have you Mrs. Park!


This week our students participated in Red Ribbon Week. The theme for this week was "Be Kind to your Mind. Live Drug Free." A huge thank you to Potomac Highlands Guild for donating the goodies that were given out our students. #VikingProud










**STAFF SPOTLIGHT** Every Friday we are going to shine the spotlight on one of our staff members. This Friday it is Mrs. Amber Layton. Mrs. Layton has been teaching for 7 years here in Grant County. The most interesting project that Mrs. Layton has worked on was helping with the school meal program during Covid-19. She loved seeing all the staff come together to ensure that our students were receiving appropriate nutrition while at home. Mrs. Layton says that what she likes most about PHS is "The potential to inspire the youth of our nation to love, value and respect themselves and each other and instilling the love of learning and caring for others." PHS is lucky to have you Mrs. Layton!


Petersburg will be hosting the 7th Grade PVL Volleyball Tournament on 10/24. Come out and support your #1 seeded Vikings in their quest to finish the year with a championship! The Vikings open the tournament on Tuesday at 5PM vs Moorefield.


**STAFF SPOTLIGHT** Every Friday we are going to shine the spotlight on one of our staff members. This Friday it is Mr. Blake Landis. Mr. Landis is in his 2nd year as a teacher but year 8 of being a coach. Mr. Landis Says "The most interesting project that I have worked on here has been the presidential debates in 11th grade last year." He says the best part about working at PHS is the meaningful connections he makes with the students and athletes. PHS is lucky to have you Mr. Landis!

It's a beautiful evening at Viking Memorial Field to recognize our 8th grade football players and cheerleaders in our final regular season game vs Pendleton County!
