We had another busy week at PHS! We celebrated FFA Week this week with different dress up days throughout the week. Mrs. Carlson's AP Biology class hung DNA in the hallway to showcase their knowledge. Today we celebrated our Heart Challenge winners with bounce houses and the top three fundraisers got to pie our administrators in the face. #VikingPride

We had a busy week here at PHS! We started the week off with a Kiss the Pig Fundraiser where Mrs. Kochenderfer was our lucky winner. We had 5 of our high school students travel to Potomac State College for the Regional Science Fair. All 5 students placed in their categories and Sara Vance received an invitation to the State Science Fair. Lastly, our AP Government students participated in a Mock Trial at the Grant County Court House this morning. They were able to complete a full trial to gain the experience in how trials work. #VikingProud

On Friday, the trivia club put together valentine cards to give to the Grant County Nursing Home. Each of our clubs are participating in a service project throughout the year to give back! #VikingPride
Today's PVL cheer competition at PHS has been postponed due to a lack of judges. A make up date is still being considered.
The tennis meeting that was scheduled for tomorrow, will be postponed until Monday, Feb. 19th @ 5pm in the media center.

Students throughout the county competed in the County Math Field Day on January 25th, 2024. We have several students from Petersburg High School that have made it to Regional Math Field Day! #VikingProud

Students in Mrs. Stumps Theater class attended the 2024 Regional Thespian Competition on Saturday January 27th. Two students from PHS, Blair Loy and Alana Davis, were recognized as outstanding and have been invited to the State Thespian Festival in Morgantown! #VikingProud
**STAFF SPOTLIGHT** Every Friday we are going to shine the spotlight on one of our staff members. This Friday it is Mrs. Lori Western. Mrs. Western has been with Grant County Schools for 14 years. She is currently the secretary here at Petersburg High School. Mrs. Western says " I love the interaction with the students, as well as assisting the staff with whatever they need."
