Petersburg will be hosting the 7th Grade PVL Volleyball Tournament on 10/24. Come out and support your #1 seeded Vikings in their quest to finish the year with a championship! The Vikings open the tournament on Tuesday at 5PM vs Moorefield.
**STAFF SPOTLIGHT** Every Friday we are going to shine the spotlight on one of our staff members. This Friday it is Mr. Blake Landis. Mr. Landis is in his 2nd year as a teacher but year 8 of being a coach. Mr. Landis Says "The most interesting project that I have worked on here has been the presidential debates in 11th grade last year." He says the best part about working at PHS is the meaningful connections he makes with the students and athletes. PHS is lucky to have you Mr. Landis!

Volleyball Senior Night!

**STAFF SPOTLIGHT** Every Friday we are going to shine the spotlight on one of our staff members. This Friday it is Mr. Josh Kuykendall. Mr. Kuykendall has been teaching for 26 years. Mr. Kuykendall says that his most interesting project that he has worked in here at PHS was when he represented Grant Co/PHS at state level in writing the social studies content standards for the state. He is most proud of his 14 years spent as Student Council faculty advisor. He also enjoys helping various classes win the Jennings Randolph award for 100% voter registration of eligible voters at PHS. Mr. Kuykendall says he most enjoys "the interactions we get to have with students so we can make meaningful memories and meaningful learning." PHS is lucky to have you Mr. Kuykendall!
Yesterday students from PHS and UEC received the opportunity to participate in the College Fair! Students were able to talk to over 20 colleges, The College Foundation for WV, as well as the Army National Guard. #VikingProud

He is currently our Varsity Golf coach. He is most proud of his Golf team making it to states for the first time in 12 years! Mr. Heare says "My favorite thing about my job is the students I get to teach and the daily interactions we experience" PHS is lucky to have you Mr. Heare!

On Wednesday, we had the pleasure of hosting WVU for a presentation to our seniors. They were able to learn more about the campus and ask questions about applying to WVU. #VikingProud
Day 3 and 4 of our Homecoming Week was a success! Don't forget tomorrow is class color day! Seniors wear black, Juniors wear red, Sophomores wear white, and Freshman wear gray!
**STAFF SPOTLIGHT** Each Wednesday we are going to shine the spotlight on one of our staff members. This week is Mrs. Elizabeth Evans. Mrs. Evans has been teaching for 5 Years here in Grant County. Mrs. Evans is highly involved with the Health Careers Club along with Mrs. Melinda Turner. Mrs. Evans favorite memory of working at PHS is the field trips that she was able to host. Students were given the opportunity to go to the Cadaver Teaching Lab through WVU School of Medicine. Together Mrs. Evans and Mrs. Turner were able to host a Health Careers Fair as well. PHS is lucky to have you Mrs. Evans!
